The crash happened on Market Street and the 60 Freeway before dawn Saturday.

Grace Whitman is scheduled to make an appearance Aug. 7 at the Riverside Hall of Justice.

A SigAlert was issued, but by 4 p.m. most of the wreckage had been cleared or moved to the shoulder of the freeway.

The man driving the motorcycles was also treated for major injuries.

The suspect died at the scene.

One of two vehicles in the crash was fully engulfed in flames.

The patients appeared to be in their 20s.

Thomas Peter Shierts, 62, of San Bernardino, was hit in the 2700 block of Del Rosa Avenue.

The motorcyclist was unresponsive and suffered “severe traumatic injuries,” while the driver of the vehicle had minor injuries, police said.
