A motorcyclist who was killed in a collision with a car in Jurupa Valley was identified Monday as a 46-year-old Fontana man.

Randy Navarrette was fatally injured about 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Country Village Road and Wagon Way.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Navarrette was going southbound on Country Village when the driver of a sedan going north on the four-lane corridor initiated a left turn onto Wagon Way.

Sheriff’s Sgt. Brian Gutierrez said the motorcyclist was unable to maneuver his bike to avoid colliding with the passenger side of the car. Navarrette was thrown onto the roadway and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The motorist, who was not injured, was questioned by deputies and determined not to be under the influence or alcohol or drugs, Gutierrez said.
