The crash happened about 4:40 p.m. at the intersection of Temescal Canyon Road and Bernard Street.

Jennifer Williams, 45, died at the scene, the coroner’s office reported. Her hometown was not known.

The drivers of the two vehicles involved, an Ontario woman and a Fontana man, both suffered major injuries.

No injuries were reported, according to CHP.

The woman died at a hospital in Indio.

Investigators had identified the car involved in the June 30 incident, sheriff’s deputies said.
