Motorcyclist killed in collision east of Temecula

A motorcyclist was killed Saturday afternoon, Feb. 8, in a collision on Highway 79 east of Temecula.

The crash was reported at 2:40 p.m. near Sage Road, the California Highway Patrol said. A vehicle was reported to be down an embankment. The road was closed in both directions for about 20 minutes.

The Riverside County Coroner’s Office was called about 3:10 p.m.

Information on how the collision happened, and the name of the victim, was not immediately available.
