Child pronounced dead at the scene of crash, according to authorities.

The DMV is working through its backlog of appointments that were postponed because of the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. Nicholas Filipas, a DMV spokesman up in Sacramento, said new appointments should become available in the “next few months.”

A preliminary investigation determined the vehicle was speeding westbound on Grand Avenue when the driver lost control and crashed into a parked vehicle.

Firefighters responded to the crash at Ramona Expressway at Perris Boulevard about 10:05 p.m.

Investigators believe the vehicle that fatally struck the bicyclist was either a white or light-colored sedan with a shattered front windshield and major front-end damage.
