At least 12 people have perished in crashes on the road in the past 12 months.

The crash happened Thursday near Bristol Street and Santa Clara Avenue.

Eugene Harbrecht was making a turn in his truck when a racing car slammed into it, police said. Two men, 24 and 29, were arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, one while being intoxicated.

Roberto Carlos Ponciano, 29, intentionally ran over two people, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said.

It happened about 2:25 a.m. Tuesday on Mission Boulevard, near the 60 Freeway.

Deputy Dennis Gill was hired by the LASD in 2000.

Child pronounced dead at the scene of crash, according to authorities.

The DMV is working through its backlog of appointments that were postponed because of the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. Nicholas Filipas, a DMV spokesman up in Sacramento, said new appointments should become available in the “next few months.”
