The collision, which claimed an Ontario woman’s life, happened just after 7 a.m. in the southbound lanes near Box Springs Road.

Los Angeles County attorneys had tried to block the sheriff from having to face a deposition, stating in court papers that he has nothing to add to information Vanessa Bryant’s lawyers don’t either already have or cannot find elsewhere.

The county’s response, included in the motion, lists the personnel who had access to crash scene photos that were taken as part of the investigation and denies there was any public dissemination.

The crash was reported about 7:25 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, on the transition from the westbound 60 Freeway to the northbound I-605 Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The pickup truck was found in a ditch at Lamb Canyon and Gilman Springs roads.

The county argues that the request is necessary to defend itself from Vanessa Bryant’s suit alleging emotional distress caused by the circulation of photos of the Kobe Bryant helicopter crash.

The collision on Moore Way and Airport Drive was reported to Ontario police at 6:26 p.m. on Thursday.

He says he decided to run only when he was denied a concealed-carry permit for a gun.
