The crash happened near Rainbow Valley Boulevard.

The collision happened about 8 a.m. in the area of Soquel Canyon Parkway and Mindenvale Parkway.

Three friends had gone to the airport to pick up a fourth.

The crash, reported at 11:48 p.m. Tuesday at Van Buren Boulevard and 56th Street, shut down the roadway for more than 8 hours.

Sheriff’s Aviation, along with Chino and Montclair Police Departments helped find and apprehend the fleeing driver, officials said.

The vehicle was speeding, and impairment is suspected, the Sheriff’s Department said.
