Durpree Battiest died from his May 23 injuries on Friday, May 28, according to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office. 

Austin Jesse Garcia, 21, is accused of causing the collision that killed his passenger and fellow San Bernardino resident, Isaac Jacob Vargas, 16.

The driver of the Nissan was identified as Ajanni Cabrera, according to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.

The brush fire was stopped at about two acres.

The names of 2 of the dead have been announced by the coroner: Dennis Leonard Savard II, 17, and Jazmen Marie Thomas, 16.

Javier Caldera, 27, of Auburn, Washington admitted to the various counts in a plea directly to Riverside County Superior Court Judge F. Paul Dickerson.

Among homes sold in March 2021, 83% had been on the market for less than a month.

At about 3:09 p.m., deputies responded near the intersection of Day Street and Bay Avenue where they found a  Ford Edge and a Toyota Corolla involved in a crash, each occupied by only a driver, the Sheriff’s Department said.

It happened Tuesday night at Camino Flores and Iris Avenue.
