A recent study from the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety found California leads the nation with the most fatal hit-and-run accidents.  

The chase started in Corona when an officer spotted a suspicious vehicle.

“For individuals staying in California, there are no extension options, including for medical reasons,” a DMV officials says.

The accident, involving two semi trucks that collided, was reported to the California Highway Patrol at about 1:25 p.m.

Girl’s uncle says he had come across the suspect after the incident: “She had a chance to say it was an accident, ‘I’m sorry.’ Instead, she tried to hide the car and have it fixed.”

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — The operator of a limousine company involved in a crash that killed 20 people was arrested Wednesday, state police said. It wasn’t immediately clear whether the charges were related to the deadly wreck.

Marco Martinez, 28, of San Jacinto, died from his injuries in a crash at San Jacinto Street near Morton Place, Hemet police said.

No arrests have been made in the death of Chrystal Lanae Murray, 42.

Officers arrested Charlean Larue Welch, 55, of San Bernardino in connection with the fatal collision, officials said.
