San Francisco Police Department Investigates Market Street Homicide 22-146

On October 11, 2022, at approximately 8:26 p.m., San Francisco Police Officers assigned to Mission Station responded to the 2000 block of Market Street on a report of a stabbing.  

Officers arrived on scene and discovered an adult male being treated by paramedics for possible stab wounds. The medics transported the victim to a local hospital for life-threatening injuries.  

Despite the lifesaving efforts of medical staff, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased in the hospital.  

Investigators from the San Francisco Police Homicide Detail responded to the scene and took over the investigation.

Driver and Dog Killed, Three Serious Injured, in Madera Crash

The driver of a Mini Cooper and her dog were killed when they were broadsided by pickup truck, according to California Highway Patrol.

A male passenger of the Mini Cooper was airlifted to a trauma center. The pickup’s driver and a passenger, both males, sustained serious injuries in the crash.

The Tacoma had the right of way, when the Mini Cooper pulled out in front of it, according to published reports.

SJPD Investigating Traffic Fatality #54

On August 23rd, 2022, at approximately 6:59 PM, Officers responded to the area of Lundy Avenue and Sierra Road to investigate a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a motorized mobility scooter. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:

A 2007 Toyota Corolla, driven by an adult female driver, was traveling eastbound on Sierra Road when it made a right turn onto Lundy Avenue. The driver struck an elderly male who was riding a motorized mobility scooter that was traveling in a bike lane northbound on Lundy Avenue. The elderly male sustained life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital where he was stabilized.

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. No drug or alcohol influence is suspected.

On September 24th, 2022, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office notified Traffic Unit Investigators of the death on October 14, 2022.

This is the 54th fatal collision, and the 56th traffic death of 2022.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office after confirming the victim’s identity and notifying next of kin.

SJPD Investigating Traffic Fatality #53

On October 13, 2022, at approximately 7:26 PM, Officers responded to the area of Lundy Avenue and Sajak Avenue to investigate a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:

A 2010 Toyota Corolla, driven by an adult male driver, was traveling southbound on Lundy Avenue in the number one lane when it struck an elderly female pedestrian. The pedestrian was walking across lanes of traffic on Lundy Avenue outside of any marked crosswalk; she sustained major injuries and was declared deceased at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. No drug or alcohol influence is suspected.

This is the 53rd fatal collision, and the 55th traffic death of 2022. This also the 28th pedestrian fatality of the year.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office after confirming the victim’s identity and notifying next of kin.

Man Sitting in Car Killed in Hayward Crash

HAYWARD — Just before 3 a.m., a man sitting inside a car near the intersection of  W. Winton Avenue and Thunderbird Place was killed when a vehicle crashed into his.

The driver and a passenger of that vehicle initially left the scene, but later returned to cooperate with police. They have not been arrested, according to published reports.

Hayward police stated they found the man unconscious. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has yet to be released.

Solano County Coroner IDs Cordelia crash victim

The Solano County Coroner identified the motorist, who died early Saturday, when his vehicle drove off Interstate 680 near Gold Hill Road in Cordelia.

Kingsley Duru, a 20-year-old Antioch man and native of Nigeria, died at 7:40 a.m. after his vehicle smashed into a tree.

Duru’s was engulfed in flames. He was trapped inside. Authorities pronounced him dead at the scene, according to published reports.
