Teen Seriously Injured in Brentwood Hit-And-Run

BRENTWOOD – A 15-year-old boy sustained serious injuries Friday afternoon when he was stuck by a vehicle that fled the scene.

The crime occurred at 3:30 p.m. at Spruce Street and Shasta Daisy Drive, near Liberty High School. The teen was in a crosswalk when police believe a white SUV struck him and sped off.

The boy’s injuries, while serious, are not life threatening, according to published reports. Anyone with information about this crime or potential suspects may contact the Brentwood Police Department.

Fresno County: 1 Killed in Two-Car Crash

FRESNO COUNTY – A man in his 60s died after his pickup truck and an SUV collided Friday.

The pickup truck was traveling at a high rate speed on Highway 41 and Mountain View Avenue when it rear-ended the SUV, according to published reports.

People in the SUV were transported to a hospital with serious injuries. The pickup driver was  died at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.

Distracted Driver Causes Serious Injury and Airlift in Porterville

PORTERVILLE, Calif. – A two-car crash on Highway 65 in Porterville on Wednesday evening injured several people.

The collision happened at about 1:22 p.m. when a 2011 Dodge Nitro smashed into a 2018 Toyota Camry at Highway 65.

Three children were inside the Nitro and two adults were in the Camry.  According to CHP the Nitro ran the red light, smashing into the Camry. The Camry’s driver had to be airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries.  The Camry’s passenger sustained less significant, but serious injuries and was taken to the hospital.

The driver of the Dodge suffered minor injuries and the two juveniles in that vehicle were not injured.

SJPD Investigating Traffic Fatality #59

On December 7, 2022, at approximately 7:32 PM, Officers responded to the area of Little Orchard Street and Perrymont Avenue to investigate a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:

A 2004 Buick sports utility vehicle, driven by an adult male driver, was traveling northbound on Little Orchard Street when it struck an adult female pedestrian. The pedestrian was walking across Little Orchard Street outside of any marked crosswalk. The pedestrian sustained major injuries; responding Officers rendered life saving measures. The pedestrian succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. No drug or alcohol influence is suspected.

This is the 59th fatal collision, and the 61st traffic death of 2022. This is also the 31st pedestrian fatality of the year.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office after confirming the victim’s identity and notifying next of kin.
