Detectives believe hit-and-run driver intentionally struck and killed man at Mt. SAC

Sheriff’s detective’s believe the hit-and-run driver who struck a man at Mt. SAC, killing him, did so intentionally.

The driver was injured and admitted to a hospital. He has not been arrested.

The killing occurred at about 7:30 a.m. on one of the parking lots at the community college, which is located at 1100 N. Grand Avenue in Walnut. The LA County Coroner’s Office has yet to release the identity of the person who was killed. Additional information about the deadly crash and investigation has bot been released by law enforcement.

Driver Arrested After Pedestrian Struck in Downtown Oakley

OAKLEY — Police said they arrested a woman who drove the vehicle that struck a pedestrian in downtown Oakley late Tuesday evening.

The woman, who was driving a silver SUV, fled the scene. But police posted a photo of her vehicle to social media to identify and apprehend her .

The collision happened at 7:10 p.m., as the SUV drove eastbound on Main Street at Norcross Lane in traffic at about 25 mph. The injured woman was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where she was treated for head and arm injuries and released, Foreman said.

Woman Struck and Killed by Truck

California Highway Patrol believes the woman drove her car into oncoming traffic causing the crash that ended her life.

It occurred at about 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, when the  woman was driving a Honda eastbound on Kent Ave, a little west of State Route 43. A freight-liner truck driving northbound collided with her honda

The Honda was sent careening off the roadway. Its 47-year-old driver died from her injuries at the hospital.

Handgun Toting Felon Faces Felony Charges in Drunken Crash that Killed Two, Including Child

The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI, gross vehicular manslaughter and other felony counts after a collision Saturday afternoon killed two pedestrians dead, including a kid, in Bloomington.

The California Highway Patrol stated the crash occurred at 3:46 p.m., when a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado pickup traveling on Hawthorne Avenue eastbound, east of Palm Lane, smashed into a parked vehicle,

The parked vehicle then hit three pedestrians walking westbound along the north curb of Hawthorne, killing an adult and a juvenile.

The Silverado’s driver, Josue E. Navarro, 43, of Fontana faces multiple felony counts, including being a felon in possession of a handgun.

20-year-old woman dies in crash near Hemet

A 20-year-old woman died Sunday in a head-on collision near Hemet,  according to the the California Highway Patrol.

The woman, Rochelle Thompson, of Hemet, was in a Subaru Outback at about 5 p.m. on Warren Road, just south of Esplanade Avenue.  A Honda Civic travelling northbound crossed double yellow lines and hit her car, according to CHP.

Thompson was pronounced dead at the scene.

San Bernardino man jailed after wrong-way Cajon Pass crash kills woman

A 24-year-old San Bernardino man will face charges of vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence, because he allegedly caused a fatal crash, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Jorge Alberto Zamora, 24, of San Bernardino, drove the wrong way on the 15 Freeway in the Cajon Pass early Saturday, according to the CHP.

Zamora caused a crash that killed a 61-year-old woman from San Diego. The woman was a passenger in a car struck by Zamora. Her identity has yet to be publicly released.

Zamora was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, DUI and DUI causing great bodily injury, according to court records. He was being held at West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga in lieu of $250,000 bail.
