On February 3rd, 2023, at approximately 10:55 PM, Officers responded to the emergency room at Regional Medical Center for an adult male gunshot victim that was self-transported. During the course of the investigation, it was revealed that the victim was shot at a residence in the 2000 block of Pepper Way in San José. Evidence of a shooting was discovered and collected at the residence.
On February 4th, at approximately 3:00 PM, the victim succumbed to his injury and was declared deceased at the hospital.
A suspect responsible for this incident was contacted and arrested on February 4th. He will be identified in the coming days. Homicide charges will be presented to the District Attorney’s Office. The motive and circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
The identity of the deceased victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office after confirming the victim’s identity and notifying next of kin.
This is the City’s 3rd homicide of 2023.
