A crash involving a semi-truck on northbound Interstate 215 near Nuevo Road in Riverside left one person dead Tuesday morning.
California Highway Patrol dispatch logs reported the incident at 7:57 a.m. Authorities notified the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office coroner at 9:08 a.m.
CHP units were assigned at 8:43 a.m., arrived on scene at 8:47 a.m. and cleared the area by 9:10 a.m.
Authorities requested a tow truck at 8:36 a.m. for a vehicle lockout and later canceled it at 8:57 a.m., instead requesting a heavy-duty tow for a loaded flatbed trailer. Another heavy-duty tow was requested at 8:58 a.m.
The logs described a green and black semi-truck pulling an aluminum step-deck trailer.
Authorities also notified Cal Fire at 8:52 a.m.
The identities of those involved and the cause of the crash were not immediately available.
