On July 1, 2017, at approximately 5:45 pm, officers from the Long Beach Police department responded to 53rd Street and Orange Avenue on a report of a motorcycle involved in a traffic collision. Upon arrival Officers found that this collision involved a 1992 Suzuki, non-street legal dirt bike. The driver of the motorcycle was unconscious and not breathing.
Long Beach Fire responded to the collision scene and determined the driver deceased. The driver of the motorcycle was a male, 32 year old, resident of Long Beach.
The preliminary investigation of the collision revealed that the male driver of the motorcycle was traveling westbound on 53rd at a high rate of speed. The driver lost control of his motorcycle as he passed through Orange Avenue and collided with the west raised curb of Orange Avenue. After colliding with the curb the driver and motorcycle passed between the residents of 5300 block of Orange Avenue and collided with a cinder block wall.
