On August 24, 2022, at approximately 12:10 PM, Officers responded to the area of Moorpark Avenue and South Monroe Street to investigate a traffic collision involving an automobile and a motorcycle. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
A 2001 Ducati motorcycle, ridden by an adult male, was traveling eastbound on Moorpark Avenue at a high rate of speed when it collided with a 20013 Nissan sedan driven by an adult male. The Nissan was traveling on westbound Moorpark Avenue when it made a left turn onto southbound Monroe Street. The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. A juvenile female passenger in the Nissan was also transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
This is the 42nd fatal collision, and the 44th traffic death of 2022.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office after confirming the victim’s identity and notifying next of kin.
