Crash involving tractor trailer, train shuts down Chino street

A crash between a tractor trailer and a Union Pacific train late Friday morning in Chino damaged an outbuilding and briefly shut down a road, according to the Chino Valley Fire Protection District.

The 11 a.m. incident prompted fire officials to shut down Sixth Street from Schaefer Avenue to G Street until about 12:30 p.m.

The collision pushed the truck into a nearby outbuilding said Massiel Ladron De Guevara, spokeswoman for the Chino Valley Fire Protection District in an email.

A tweet from the district said the building needed to be shored up and stabilized.

As of 1 p.m., the truck had been moved.
