POMONA >> A Pomona police officer was injured Friday morning when a civilian vehicle struck the cruiser he was driving, authorities said.
The collision occurred around 8 a.m. near Park Avenue and Artesia Street, according to Cpl. A. Bostrom of the Pomona Police Department’s Traffic Services Bureau.
An initial investigation revealed that a civilian vehicle struck the police unit, causing it to collide with a parked car, Bostrom said.
The officer was “a little banged up” and taken to a hospital where he was treated and released, a watch commander said.
The other driver was not injured, Bostrom said.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
