Irvine police made the arrest of Pedro Pantoja Jr. of Diamond Bar and booked him on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, causing injury to his passenger while driving under the influence, vehicle theft, a parole violation and evading a police officer.

At 2:25 p.m., officers responded to the crash in the 900 block of South Cooley Drive and located three people inside the vehicle.

It happened Saturday evening in the area of Victoria Avenue and Grace Street.
