The crash at the intersection of North Sierra Way and West 18th Street claimed both children’s lives.

The child was airlifted from a crash near Windy Ridge Road, but later died at a hospital, firefighters said.

Two others in the car that slammed into a palm tree Friday night had moderate injuries, firefighters said.

The vehicle caught fire after the 3 a.m. crash, and the victim was trapped inside, CalFire said.

Montebello police Lt. Christopher Cervantes had been previously arrested on suspicion of DUI in Diamond Bar in 2015, though was not charged in the case.

The revised policy includes an increase in base pay for deliveries, which will now range from $2 to $10 or more per trip, and a promise that customers’ tips will be added on top of a “Dasher’s” earnings paid by the company, regardless of the delivery fee or promotions.

Robert Alexander Covington, 28, is due to be sentenced Nov. 8 in the death of motorcyclist Jesus Salazar of Perris.

The man was struck Monday night on Indiana Avenue east of Jackson Street.

Vincent Hernandez was killed in the crash.
