Series of Purse Thefts and Burglaries Arrest

Details:

During the months of June through September of 2022, deputies from the San Jacinto Special Enforcement Team (SET) developed information regarding a series of thefts and burglaries in the city of San Jacinto, with the most recent occurring in the 1300 block of Lindsey Court. During the course of the investigations, the suspect was identified as Jaden Callandret, a 19-year-old resident of San Jacinto. San Jacinto SET deputies authored a search warrant for Callandret’s residence, located in the 1400 block Mouton Drive in San Jacinto. During the search of the residence, deputies seized numerous items related to the thefts, such as designer bags/purses, designer shoes, wallets, cash, two PlayStation 5s, as well as a stolen handgun, and several firearm parts. Personal identification cards belongings to victims were also found in Callandret’s possession. Callandret was arrested and booked at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility for burglary, grand theft, and possession of stolen property.

Suspect Arrested for Murder in 2020 Missing Persons Case

Details:

On December 11, 2020, at 5:32 PM, deputies from the San Jacinto Sheriff’s Station began a missing persons investigation that was reported in the 3000 block of Crooked Branch Way in San Jacinto. The missing person was identified as Diana Perez Gonzalez, a 27-year-old female resident of San Jacinto. The investigation was initially turned over to the San Jacinto Station’s Investigations Bureau, but when investigators suspected foul play, the Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation.

Seeking the Public’s Help with a Fatal Hit-an-Run Traffic Collision

Details:

On October 27, 2022, at 10:40pm, deputies from the San Jacinto Station responded to a major injury hit-and-run traffic collision at the intersection of Ramona Expressway and Chase Street in the city of San Jacinto.  Deputies arrived and located an adult male laying unresponsive in the roadway.  The subject was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.  The San Jacinto Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.  The preliminary investigation revealed the male subject was walking within the crosswalk on Ramona Expressway at Chase Street when he was hit by gray, unknown make or model vehicle. After the collision, the vehicle did not stop and continued westbound on Ramona Expressway.

Injured Paraglider Rescued

Details:

On Sunday, October 30, 2022, at 10:59 AM, deputies assigned to the San Jacinto Station responded to the Soboba Flight Park, located in the 200 block of Soboba Road, reference reports of an injured paraglider. The investigation revealed a paraglider collided with the side of the mountain, several hundred feet above the Soboba Flight Park, and sustained moderate injuries. The paraglider was hoisted off of the mountain by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Rescue-9 helicopter. Once hoisted from the mountain, the injured paraglider was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. Fatal Traffic Collision

Details:

On Sunday, November 13, 2022, at 02:23 AM, deputies assigned to the San Jacinto Sheriff’s Station responded to the area of South San Jacinto Avenue, north of Midway Avenue, regarding a major-injury traffic collision.  Deputies and Cal Fire arrived within minutes and located a single vehicle traffic collision.  A Toyota Corolla traveling northbound on South San Jacinto Avenue collided into a center median and ultimately collided into a large sign within the center median. The driver and sole occupant of the Toyota Corolla was pronounced deceased at the scene.
