San Francisco Police Investigate Mission District Homicide 23-003

On January 6, 2023, at approximately 1:53 a.m., San Francisco Police officers from Mission Station responded to the 600 block of Valencia Street regarding a shooting. Officers arrived on scene and located two male victims and two female victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers rendered aid and summoned medics to the scene. The victims were transported to a local hospital for their injuries. The two female victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries and the two male victims suffered life-threatening injuries. Despite the life-saving efforts of the emergency responders and the medical staff, a 28-year-old male victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The SFPD Homicide Detail responded to the scene and took over the investigation.

San Francisco Police Arrests Suspect in Richmond District Homicide 22-183

On Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at approximately 4:32 a.m., San Francisco Police officers assigned to Richmond Station responded to a residence on the 100 block of Willard North for a report of a person breaking into a home. 

Officers arrived on scene and located a 42-year-old male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The officers rendered aid and summoned medics to the scene. Despite the lifesaving efforts of the emergency responders, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased on scene.  

Investigators from the San Francisco Police Homicide Detail responded to the scene and took over the investigation.   

During the course of the investigation, investigators identified 50-year-old Lev Tikhomirov of San Francisco, as the suspect in the shooting. Investigators developed probable cause to arrest Tikhomoriv and placed him under arrest on the 800 block of Bryant Street. Tikhomoriv was transported to San Francisco County Jail and booked for charges of homicide (187 PC) and felon in possession of a firearm (29800(a)(1) PC).
