To help reduce retail thefts and to hold those committing these crimes accountable, the San Francisco Police Department Burglary Unit (Fencing & Organized Retail Crime investigators) and Field Operations Bureau, pre-planned a shoplifting enforcement operation. A retail store located on the 700 block of Mission Street and the 200 block of Winston Drive was chosen for the operation due to the high number of shoplifting incidents the businesses were experiencing.
On Tuesday, December 12, 2023, the operation was successful in arresting a total of 18 suspects listed below. Two were booked at San Francisco County Jail #1 for outstanding warrants and the on-view theft charges. One suspect was booked at San Francisco County Jail #1 for on-view felony theft charges. Twelve suspects were cited for shoplifting and released from the scene. The stolen property was seized by officers during the operation and returned to the store. The SFPD will continue to conduct these operations throughout San Francisco in the hopes of reducing thefts that are targeting our businesses.

On December 11, 2023, at approximately 1:34 PM, a robbery with a gun was reported in the area of 18th Street and Kansas Street. At the time, dispatch broadcast a description of the suspect’s vehicle as being a bronze-colored sedan with three occupants. Shortly after that, an observant on-duty SFPD sergeant spotted the vehicle traveling on eastbound Interstate 80. The sergeant ran a record check of the vehicle’s license plate and learned that the vehicle had been stolen in a carjacking in an outside jurisdiction. The sergeant attempted to pursue the vehicle but lost sight of it as the vehicle fled.
Later the same day, at approximately 5:21 PM, Tenderloin officers observed a similar vehicle in the area of Eddy and Polk Street. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but it fled to avoid capture. Officers pursued the vehicle, due to the suspected violent crime it was involved in, until the pursuit came to an end with the vehicle causing a collision on the 500 block of Franklin Street. All three suspects were detained as they attempted to flee the vehicle on foot. Officers recovered a firearm, stolen merchandise, narcotics, and burglary tools from the vehicle.

29-year-old male Theodore Lee Gore from Vacaville, CA for two outstanding arrest warrants and the listed charges:
1. Local SF warrant, $500 bail for 490.2(a)PC
2. Milpitas Police Department warrant, $9,000 bail for 466 PC, 484(a) PC, 21310 PC, 11350(a) HS.
Gore was also booked for the following listed charges: 2800.2(a) CVC Reckless Evading), (10851(a) CVC Stolen Vehicle), (496d(a) PC Possession of a Stolen Vehicle), (182(a)(1) PC Conspiracy), (29800(a)(1) PC Felon in Possession of a Firearm), (25400(a)(1) PC Carry Concealed Firearm), (11370.1(a) HS Possession of a Controlled Substance and Loaded Firearm), (11350(a) HS Possession of Controlled Substance), (466 PC Possession of Burglary Tools), (496(a) PC Possession of Stolen Property), (11377(a) HS Possession of Methamphetamine), and two counts of (20002(a) CVC Hit and Run).
Gore was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries sustained during the arrest.
42-year-old male Aaron Lemar Richardson from Vacaville, CA for two outstanding arrest warrants:
1. South San Francisco Police Department warrant, $150,000 bail for 530.5(c)(3) PC, 466 PC, 530.2(C)(2) PC, 530.5(A) PC
2. CDCR warrant, No bail, for parole violation.
Richardson was also booked for the listed charges: (10851(a) CVC Stolen Vehicle), (496d(a) PC Possession of a Stolen Vehicle), (182(a)(1) PC Conspiracy), (29800(a)(1) PC Felon in Possession of a Firearm), (25400(a)(1) PC Carry Concealed Firearm), (11370.1(a) HS Possession of a Controlled Substance and Loaded Firearm), (11350(a) HS Possession of Controlled Substance), (466 PC Possession of Burglary Tools), (496(a) PC Possession of Stolen Property), (11377(a) HS Possession of Methamphetamine).
32-year-old female Marisa Renee Melton from Vacaville, CA for four outstanding warrants:
1. Solano County Sheriff warrant, $35,000 bail for 4573 PC
2. Alameda County Sheriff warrant, $10,000 bail for 148.9(a) PC, 484(a) PC, 496(a) PC, 466 PC, and 11377 HS
3. San Mateo County Sheriff warrant $50,000 bail for 529(a) PC, 485 PC, 460(a) PC, 11350(a) HS
4. Burlingame Police Department warrant, $1,000 bail for 485 PC.

On December 28, 2023, at approximately 5:37 a.m., San Francisco Police officers responded to the area of Mission and Washburn Streets on a report of a stabbing.
Officers located two victims, a 45-year-old male and a 38-year-old female, suffering from apparent stab wounds. Officers rendered aid to both victims and summoned paramedics to the scene. The medics transported both victims to the hospital for life-threatening injuries. Despite the lifesaving efforts of officers, emergency responders, and hospital staff, the male victim was declared deceased at the hospital. No arrests have been made at this time.
Investigators from the San Francisco Police Department Homicide Detail arrived on scene and are leading this open and active investigation.

On August 18, 2023, at approximately 3:03 PM San Francisco Police assigned to Mission Station responded to the 2400 block of Harrison Street to investigate a reported shooting. When officers arrived on scene, they located a victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Despite the lifesaving efforts of officers, emergency responders, and hospital staff, the victim was declared deceased at the hospital.
Investigators from the San Francisco Police Department Homicide Detail who are leading this investigation, have identified the homicide suspect as 21-year-old male Antonio Malik Rodgers-Alcala of Daly City, CA. Investigators developed probable cause to obtain arrest and search warrants.
On Thursday, December 28, 2023, at approximately 1:30 PM SFPD officers assigned to the Community Violence Reduction Team (CVRT) located Rodgers-Alcala on the 800 block of Schwerin Street in Daly City, CA. As officers moved in to arrest Rodgers-Alcala he attempted to run away but was quickly apprehended. CVRT officers exercised the search warrant on Rodgers-Alcala’s residence and seized evidence related to the homicide.
Officers transported Rodgers-Alcala to San Francisco County Jail where he was booked for the arrest warrant (Violation: 187 PC, No Bail Amount).

On December 21, 2023, at approximately 11:00 p.m., SFPD officers from Tenderloin Station responded to a business located on the 200 block of Ellis St. regarding an armed robbery that just occurred. Officers responded to the robbery and observed a suspect who matched the description running from the scene. Officers attempted to detain the suspect to no avail at which time a foot pursuit ensued. Officers were able to apprehend the male after a brief struggle. Upon searching the suspect officers seized a loaded firearm from his person.
During the arrest a hostile crowd formed around the officers and suspect. Officers were able to transport the suspect to a secure location for their safety and the safety of the suspect. Officers on scene also detained a female who had interfered with the investigation. She identified herself involved with the suspect. The female resisted arrest and spat on the officers during the incident.
The investigation revealed the suspect wore a balaclava, jumped over the counter, and brandished a firearm while he made his demands before fleeing on foot with US Currency that he stole. Through the course of the investigation officers developed probable cause to arrest both the male and female.
The male suspect, 34 year-old Marcus Khalant Ervin of Antioch, CA was charged with robbery (211 1st PC), possession of concealed firearm (25400(A)(2) PC), possession of a loaded firearm to commit a felony (25800(A) PC), possession of concealed firearm in public (25850(A) PC), prohibited person to possess a firearm (29825(B) PC), convicted person in possession of firearm (29900(A) PC), convicted person in possession of ammunition (30305(A) PC), exhibiting a deadly weapon (417 PC), resisting arrest (148(a)(1) PC).
The female suspect, 46-year-old Hailia Hayes of San Francisco was charged with battery on a police officer (243(b) PC), and resisting arrest (148 (a)(1) PC).
