On March 17, 2024, at approximately 6:02 a.m., San Francisco Police officers assigned to Bayview Station responded to the 100 block of Dakota Street on a report of an unconscious female adult lying on the ground.
Upon arrival, officers met with the medics on scene, who pronounced the female victim deceased.
Investigators from the San Francisco Police Department Homicide Detail arrived on scene and are leading this open and active investigation.

On March 19, 2024, at approximately 8:58 p.m., San Francisco Police Officers from Richmond station responded to the area of 12th Avenue and Anza Street regarding a vandalism suspect who had slashed vehicle tires.
Officers arrived on scene and quickly located a suspect matching the description from a nearby vandalism incident that had just occurred. Richmond station officers detained the man, later identified as 22-year-old Osiel Torres of San Francisco.
Officers canvassed the area and through the course of their investigation, determined that Torres had vandalized over 20 vehicles in the area. Torres was placed under arrest and booked at San Francisco County Jail on charges of 22 counts of felony vandalism 594(b)(1) PC.
The actions of the 911 caller who was one of the victims in this incident as well as the swift response and diligent investigating by Richmond station officers led to this great arrest.

On December 18, 2016, at approximately 8:46 p.m., a shooting occurred on the northwest corner of 16th Street and South Van Ness Avenue in San Francisco resulting in the murders of Lindsay Elaine McCollum, age 27, and Eddie Wayne Tate (AKA: Tennessee), age 51. McCollum and Tate were shot while inside a wooden box they used as living quarters on the street.
In October 2019, the San Francisco Police Department initially authorized a $25,000 reward for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the suspect(s) in this case. The reward has been increased to $100,000.
In April 2021, a forensic artist produced a sketch of a person of interest in this investigation.
In March of 2024, the San Francisco Police Department authorized a $200,000 reward for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the murder of Lindsay Elaine McCollum and Eddie Wayne Tate. A bulletin announcing this reward is attached to this news release.

On March 24, 2024, at approximately 8:44 p.m., SFPD officers responded to the unit block of Dwight St. regarding a report of a shooting. Officers arrived on scene and located two adults inside a home suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers rendered aid and medics arrived on scene and declared the two victims deceased.
The SFPD Homicide Detail responded to the scene and are leading the investigation.

On January 14th, 2024, at approximately 12:07 a.m., San Francisco Police officers from Southern Station responded to the 100 block of Berry Street on a report of a shooting.
Officers responded to the scene and located an adult male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Officers rendered aid to the victim and summoned paramedics to the scene. The medics transported the victim to a local hospital for life-threatening injuries. Despite the lifesaving efforts of the officers, emergency responders, and hospital staff, the male victim succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased at the hospital. A second adult male victim was located on scene and was treated by medics for non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators from the San Francisco Police Department Homicide Detail led the investigation. Through the course of their investigation, Investigators identified 20-year-old Ranjeet Dodds as a suspect involved in the homicide and developed probable cause to obtain an arrest warrant.
On March 19, 2024, Dodds was taken into custody in San Jose, California. With the Collaborative efforts of the San Francisco Police Department and the San Jose Police Department, Dodds was booked into San Francisco County Jail #1 for the charge of murder (187(a)PC).

On March 16, 2024, at approximately 12:13 p.m., San Francisco Police officers responded to the area of Ulloa Street and Lenox Way on a report of a solo vehicle collision involving pedestrians.
Officers arrived on scene and located multiple victims suffering from injuries. SFPD Officers and SFFD Firefighters rendered aid to the victims. Despite life-saving efforts made by first responders, two victims were declared deceased at the scene. Three patients were transported to the hospital with injuries.
Despite the lifesaving efforts of the hospital staff, the third victim, an adult female, succumbed to her injuries at the hospital and an infant is still suffering from life-threatening injuries.
Officers learned that the driver of the vehicle, identified as 78-year-old Mary Fong Lau, was traveling eastbound on Ulloa Street when she crashed into a bus stop at the intersection of Ulloa Street and Lenox Way.
Through the course of the investigation, The SFPD Traffic Collision Investigations Unit developed probable cause to book the driver, Lau, for 3 counts of felony vehicular manslaughter, felony reckless driving causing bodily injury, and additional traffic violations.
