Rollover Crash on Highway 198 in Lemoore Kills 2 People

Two people were killed in a rollover wreck  in Lemoore on Monday morning,  as previously reported first by CCAR.

At about 7:15  a.m., 911 callers reported a gray Subaru rolled westbound highway 198 and west of highway 41. The vehicle had landed on the north shoulder of highway 198.

When officers arrived they found a 24-year old person and other occupant of about the same age. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

CHP has yet to publicly identify the two people killed. The coroner will conduct toxicology tests to determine if alcohol or drugs were a factor.

While fog cut visibility down to about 1,000 feet, CHP told a local news station that they do not believe it was a factor.

Vehicle Crash and Fire Near Modesto Kills 1

A vehicle went off the road early today, caught fire and left at least one person dead.

The crash occurred before 1 a.m. at SR 99’s offramp to Keyes Road.

911 callers initially reported trees had caught fire at the bottom of an embankment, before someone spotted a vehicle in the flames.

Fire units responded and extinguished the blaze. At about 1:30 a.m. firefighters reported a person was killed in the crash, according to CHP dispatch logs.

Selma Teen, Briseida Mariscal, Died on 17th Birthday

Selma police Thursday identified the teen who died on her 17th birthday after she was struck by a vehicle while crossing a street earlier this month.

Briseida Mariscal lasted a week, fighting for her life in CRMC Fresno. But on her 17th birthday, December 15, the teen tragically lost that battle. 

Mariscal was crossing the street on December 8, near the intersection of Floral Avenue and Wright Street when she was struck by a vehicle. 

Police publicly identified the teen Thursday, as the crash victim.  They also arrested an 18-year-old on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, failure to yield the right of way to a  pedestrian and unsafe turning motion.

Gabriel Basulto of Selma was driving the vehicle that struck Mariscal. He was booked into the Fresno County Jail on Thursday.  The 18-year-old is not suspected to have been intoxicated at the time of the crash. He stayed at the scene.

Man Killed While Riding Scooter in San Jacinto

Arthur St. Clair lost his life when the scooter he was riding and an SUV collided on South San Jacinto Avenue near Midway Street.

The 35-year-old Norco man’s life ended at about 10:20 p.m. Sunday, according to police.

St. Clair was riding northbound on San Jacinto Avenue,  when his scooter and  Chevrolet Suburban crashed.

The driver of the Chevy stayed at the scene. He has yet to be ticketed or charged in connection with the crash, according to published reports. .

Head-On Crash in Madera Kills 2 and Wounds 2

Two folks were killed and two more seriously injured when a vehicle veered into oncoming traffic Thursday morning.

The head-on crash near Children’s Boulevard and Avenue 9 happened at about 6:45 a.m.

California Highway Patrol officials believe a Honda Civic was headed east on Avenue 9, when it swerved into oncoming traffic.

A Toyota Corolla, carrying three family members, was the unfortunate victim.

A passenger in the Corolla was rushed to Valley Children’s Hospital, but died from his scene. Both the driver and another passenger were taken to the hospital with injuries.

The Civic’s driver died at the scene, while a passenger was taken to a local hospital.

Antioch Woman Killed in Oakland Hills Crash

A suspected drunken driver crashed his vehicle in the Oakland Hills, killing his 42-year-old passenger, according to police.

Police have not released the name of the 42-year-old woman who died in the crash that happened after Midnight on Tuesday.

The 48-year-old Antioch man, who was driving the vehicle was bought to a hospital in stable condition and placed under arrest on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter. Police believe he was drunk, when he crashed the vehicle. His name has yet-to-be released.

The crash was reported at 12:44 a.m. Tuesday in the 3800 block of Grizzly Peak Boulevard, near Fish Ranch Road.

The vehicle was headed eastbound when it lost control on a turn and careened down a 200 foot embankment before it stopped.

The woman was thrown from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Corvette Spins Out, Jumps Curb Injures Man in Fresno

A Corvette spun out, hopped a curb and ran over a man, who was resting in bushes in northeast Fresno, according to published reports.

The collision happened at about 8 a.m. Tuesday where Blackstone Avenue meets Auto Center Drive.

The sports car lost control, hopped over the curb and went into bushes, where a a pedestrian was laying down.

The man’s upper body was run over, but police did not believe his injuries to be life threatening. Good Samaritans stopped to render medical aid and the man was taken to the hospital.

Police have not arrested the Corvette’s driver.

Woman Killed in Head-On Crash in Hanford

A 45-year-old woman died Monday morning when her vehicle swerved into oncoming traffic.

The crash occurred at about 5 a.m. on SR-43, north of Fargo Avenue in Kings County.

The woman died at the scene. Her name has yet to be publicly released by officials.

Armando Banuelos, a 72-year-old man, was driving in the opposite direction. He was injured in the crash.

The coroner’s office will conduct toxicology reports to determine if alcohol or drugs could have been a factor.
