Passenger Trapped and Killed in Crash at Manning Ave and James Rd West of San Joaquin

A passenger was trapped and killed Wednesday morning in a crash at Manning Avenue and James Road west of San Joaquin/\.

The collision between a white Ford F150 and white Chevy Silverado occurred just before 9:30 a.m. where Manning Avenue intersects with James Road and S. Calaveras Avenue, according to CHP dispatch records.

Scooter Rider Killed in Crash With Two Big Rigs in Fresno

A 22-year-old riding a scooter sustained fatal injuries early Wednesday after he was struck by a mini-van and two big rigs on Highway 99 in Fresno.

A 34-year-old man driving a Dodge Caravan hit the 22-year-old scooter rider near Highway 99 northbound near the Fresno Street exit at about 12:45 a.m.

Two big rigs then struck the scooter rider. All the vehicles pulled over at the scene of the deadly crash.

Young Driver Killed By Big Rig in Crash on I-5 near Twisselman Road in Bakersfield

A tractor trailer collided with a young driver Tuesday night pinning the victim in the wreckage on Interstate 5 near Bakersfield.

The tragic collision occurred at about 7:35 p.m. on the highway’s northbound lanes just north of the Twisselman Road exit, according to CHP dispatch logs.

The yet-to-be identified victim was driving a white Jetta, when it collided with a Tractor Trailer that initial reports indicate was hauling a step ramp – the low platforms can be used to load cars and other cargo. The impact sent debris exploding the interstate.

Efforts to free the young driver from the Jetta were to no avail, as 911 callers reported the victim was pinned in the vehicle and choking on blood.

The victims name has yet to be released by the coroner’s office. Check back with CCAR for updates about this tragedy and the latest information about deadly car crashes.

Two Killed in Kern County Head-On Crash on 395 HWY

Kern County Firefighters raced to the scene of a head-on collision on a remote stretch of Highway 395 to save victims of a head-on crash that killed two people Sunday afternoon.

The deadly collision occurred on the northbound lanes of the 395 at about 1:45 p.m., when two vehicles- one silver and one maroon – collided, according to California Highway Patrol logs.

Two people were left trapped inside the wreckage a Nissan Juke that caught fire after the collision, according to CHP Dispatch Logs.

More than 30 minutes elapsed before Kern County Fire made it to the scene. The closest fire house, is about 19 miles from the remote crash site.

The California Highway Patrol collected both vehicles for evidence. The status of the person driving the other vehicle and which car was travelling in the wrong direction was not immediately available.

There has been recent reports of Nissan Jukes catching fire without being involved in a Collison.

Two Killed in Head-On Crash With Big Rig in Porter Ranch

Today’s wrong-way collision on Porter Ranch’s Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway resulted in two deaths and two injuries, according to authorities. 

 At the Tampa Avenue off-ramp on the westbound side of the freeway, the collision was reported around 4:25 a.m., California Highway Patrol reported on Sunday.

A semi-truck was struck by a dark-colored vehicle that was allegedly traveling east in the westbound lanes.  The car came to rest on the off-ramp embankment. 

At the scene, two people were identified as dead.  

According to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department, when paramedics were sent to the scene at 4:30 a.m., they hurried two other patients to nearby trauma clinics.

Man Killed in One Car Crash Early Wednesday in Tulare County

A solo-vehicle accident early Wednesday in Tulare County near Visalia claimed a man’s life.

The crash occurred at about 1 a.m. on West Street, north of Cartmill Avenue, in an unincorporated region of Tulare County, according to the California Highway Patrol. 

The Visalia Area Office of the California Highway Patrol sent officers to the location to conduct an investigation.

According to their initial findings, a man  was driving a Honda Civic northbound on West Street, north of Cartmill Avenue.

The Honda veered off the road and onto West Street’s east shoulder for an unknown reason and struck a light pole.

Five Vehicles Collide, Backing up Traffic on Pacific Coast Highway

Following a multi-vehicle car accident on Tuesday night, traffic on Pacific Coast Highway from Pacific Avenue to Pine Avenue was closed.

Around 7:46 p.m., five cars were involved in a collision. Police and fire officers arrived shortly after witnesses and onlookers gathered at the scene. Authorities said that no life-threatening injuries appeared to have occurred.

The eastbound and westbound lanes of PCH were both closed for hours, causing traffic to back up.

DUI Suspected in Visalia Crash on HWY 198

FRESNO – A driver who had been allegedly under the influence of alcohol crashed and hit a tree near Visalia, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP believes Gabriel Meza, 31, from Exeter, had been driving eastbound on Highway 198 at Road 180 soon after midnight on Saturday. Officers state he drifted onto the dirt to the south and collided with a tree.

Mesa suffered serious injuries and had to be taken to a nearby hospital.
