$4.6 million Verdict in Rollover Lawsuit

When a truck veered and struck an unsuspecting motorist, causing their car to roll over, the team at Rafii & Associates, P.C., learned it was more than just another vehicle crash.

Rafii & Associates put their investigative experience to work, collecting thousands of pages in discovery. The effort revealed the company responsible for the truck had violated federal law governing the safe operation of motor vehicles.

As a result, Rafii & Associates secured a $4.6 million verdict for the victims who sustained orthopedic injuries that required surgeries.

Personal Injury Lawyer Wins Big For California Crash Victims

A successful corporate lawyer, Daniel Rafii went to work on his first personal injury case at the request of a friend whose sister had been kidnapped.

The young woman took a yellow cab in Orange County. The driver, however, refused to let her out of the vehicle. The kidnapping only ended when she jumped through a cab window onto the 405 Freeway.

Fighting Goliaths

While the driver was convicted of kidnapping by a jury and sent to prison, yellow cab and its four insurers all fought to avoid responsibility for the harm their driver caused.

Rafii fought back. Ultimately, he exposed negligence. His efforts forced the cab company and its insurers to reach a settlement that was made confidential.

The  experience, fighting large insurers and a company that refused to take responsibility, caused Rafii to find a new purpose and career in personal injury law.

“I vowed to devote all my energy and resources to helping individuals in need and taking on the ‘goliaths’,” Rafii said.

Rafii stepped away from corporate law. He founded Rafii & Associates, P.C. in 2007 to continue helping others harmed by the negligence of people and organizations that all too often act with impunity.

Today, Rafii & Associates, P.C., is headquartered in Beverly Hills, where it continues to rack up multi-million dollar verdicts on behalf of clients harmed in crashes with commercial vehicles.

The list of verdicts includes some that have been covered by CCAR:

$10.5 Million Verdict for Pedestrian Killed by Bus

$9.8 Million Verdict in Passenger Bus Rollover

$4.6 Million Verdict for Orthopedic Injuries in Truck Crash

$3.5 million Verdict in School District Box Truck Crash

Tractor Trailer Crash Victim Wins $9.8 Million in California

A mother and her infant child will collect $9.8 million, because their attorney, Rafii & Associates P.C., uncovered their injuries were caused by improperly secured cargo.

The infant child was thrown from her mother’s lap, when the large passenger bus they were riding in flipped on its side. The bus slid down an embankment off the side of the 10 Freeway in Sothern California, before coming to a rest.

Moments earlier, a tractor trailer carrying steel pipes had spilled its cargo across both directions of the 10 Freeway. The bus, which was carrying passengers from out of state, rolled violently when the driver swerved to avoid the flying pipes.

In the accident’s aftermath, a California-based law firm that specializes in representing victims of commercial-auto crashes, Rafii & Associates, was called in by the mother.

The legal team at Rafii & Associates uncovered the crash was caused by pipes that had been tied down. The revelation and negotiating tactics employed by the legal minds at Rafii & Associates led to a $9.8 million verdict.

The multi-million payout will help fund health care costs, education and other expenses for the two victims for years to come.
