A successful corporate lawyer, Daniel Rafii went to work on his first personal injury case at the request of a friend whose sister had been kidnapped.
The young woman took a yellow cab in Orange County. The driver, however, refused to let her out of the vehicle. The kidnapping only ended when she jumped through a cab window onto the 405 Freeway.
Fighting Goliaths
While the driver was convicted of kidnapping by a jury and sent to prison, yellow cab and its four insurers all fought to avoid responsibility for the harm their driver caused.
Rafii fought back. Ultimately, he exposed negligence. His efforts forced the cab company and its insurers to reach a settlement that was made confidential.
The experience, fighting large insurers and a company that refused to take responsibility, caused Rafii to find a new purpose and career in personal injury law.
“I vowed to devote all my energy and resources to helping individuals in need and taking on the ‘goliaths’,” Rafii said.
Rafii stepped away from corporate law. He founded Rafii & Associates, P.C. in 2007 to continue helping others harmed by the negligence of people and organizations that all too often act with impunity.
Today, Rafii & Associates, P.C., is headquartered in Beverly Hills, where it continues to rack up multi-million dollar verdicts on behalf of clients harmed in crashes with commercial vehicles.
