A 30-year-old Fontana man was arrested in connection with the crash, authorities said.

He died at the scene of the early Friday morning crash, authorities said.

Police believe the driver was drunk when the crash occurred.

The Ontario Police Department said a 31-year-old Ontario man was arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run, driving under the influence and gross vehicular manslaughter.

The crash occurred in the 18000 block of Beach Boulevard at about 9:25 p.m., a fire official said.

A woman found injured and not breathing at the scene of a crash was pronounced dead at a hospital, police said.

Firefighters had to cut through the vehicle’s wreckage to reach the fatally injured man.
