On August 31, 2020 at approximately 7:00 pm, officers from the Long Beach Police Department responded to assist the Long Beach Fire Department with a deceased person in the Los Angeles River near the 3700 block of E 208th Street.
The preliminary investigation revealed the decomposing body was partially enclosed within a large storage container and was found resting in a shallow portion of the Los Angeles River.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene based on the unusual circumstances regarding the storage container. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office responded and took possession of the body. They will assist in identifying the body and working to determine the cause and manner of death.
