One Dead in Eastbound I-80 Crash in Oakland Area

One person was pronounced dead following a crash Monday afternoon on eastbound Interstate 80 near the San Pablo Dam Road onramp in the Oakland area.

According to California Highway Patrol dispatch logs, the fatality was reported at 3:31 p.m. Contra Costa County Fire Department personnel notified authorities that one person was deceased. San Pablo police advised the fire department that CHP would handle the incident.

Authorities requested a traffic break at 3:33 p.m.

Units were assigned and en route starting at 3:37 p.m., with one unit cleared at 3:39 p.m. and additional units assigned and en route at 3:41 p.m.

The identities of those involved and the cause of the crash were not immediately available.
