DUI checkpoint, patrols slated for Friday in Pomona

POMONA >> In anticipation of the July 4th holiday weekend, Pomona police will increase citywide patrols to catch impaired drivers, as well as setting up a checkpoint Friday.

The checkpoint will begin 9 p.m. Friday and will run until 3 a.m. Saturday at an undisclosed location, according to a police statement. Patrol officers will be looking for impaired drivers beginning 7 p.m. Friday and will continue until 3 a.m. Saturday.

Funding for this checkpoint is provided to Pomona Police Department by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
