COLTON >> A vehicle crashed into a bridge early this morning on the northbound 215 Freeway at Washington Street in Colton, prompting authorities to stop traffic momentarily and issue a SigAlert.
The crash was first reported around 5:30 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol incident log.
CHP Officer Doug Corbett said a truck pulling large equipment didn’t clear to top of the bridge, causing damage to the span.
Workers on scene were chipping away at debris hanging from the bottom of the bridge over the 215 and clearing concrete from the lanes of traffic.
No injuries were reported as of 6 a.m.
