FONTANA >> A 22-year-old Fontana woman was killed Tuesday night when her small car collided with a full-sized pickup, police say.
The collision happened about 9:45 p.m. Tuesday on Cherry Avenue north of Valley Boulevard, according to a Fontana police news release.
The woman, identified by the San Bernardino Count Coroner Office as Clarissa Galarza Anaya, was driving her 2009 Chevrolet Aveo south on Cherry Avenue toward Valley Boulevard, the news release states. A man was driving a 2013 Dodge Ram north on Cherry Avenue in the opposite direction when the two vehicles collided.
Both victims were brought to a hospital, where Anaya died of her injuries, the news release states.
A third vehicle was involved when it collided with the pickup, but that driver was not injured, the news release states.
