FONTANA >> A person was killed in a fiery crash just before midnight Monday in the Fontana area, according to county fire reports.
The crash took place along the southbound 15 Freeway near Sierra Avenue, according to a Twitter post from San Bernardino County Fire.
The crash sparked a blaze that destroyed the vehicle and ignited a vegetation fire that burned through 2 acres of brush, according to the department.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene, but it’s unclear if the person was killed in the crash or as a result of the fire.
The identity of the person was not released.
