Pilot killed in Mount Baldy plane crash identified

MOUNT BALDY >> The pilot killed when the plane he was flying crashed near Mount Baldy on Tuesday has been identified as Stephen Lassetter, 66, of Upland.

The small white Piper PA-28 had taken off from Upland’s Cable Airport and was headed for Riverside when it crashed, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

The plane was found north of San Antonio Heights at 6:30 a.m. — about two hours after a similar plane was reported missing.
