POMONA >> A 45-year-old man was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash Thursday night in Pomona.
The crash occurred about 9:30 p.m. in the 2000 block of South Garey Avenue, just north of Rio Rancho Road, where the man was crossing the street when he was struck by a white van, Lt. Marcus Perez of the Pomona Police Department said.
The driver of the van failed to stop and render aid, continuing south on Garey Avenue, Perez said, but she later returned and contacted police at the scene, he said.
The pedestrian was in serious but stable condition when he was flown to a hospital.
There was no indication that drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash, Perez said.
The woman was not arrested at the scene but there was no immediate word of any citations issued to her.
Motorists were advised to avoid Garey Avenue, between Lexington Avenue and Rio Rancho Road while the traffic investigation is conducted.
