A family is in mourning, after the tragic death of a 3-year-old boy.

The  tragedy occurred a little after 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the 4100 block of Goldman Avenue in Riverside.

The toddler ran out onto Goldman Avenue as a family member, a 61-year-old woman driving a 2000 GMC Yukon, made a U-turn.

Efforts to save the boy’s life failed. He died at the hospital.

Neither drugs nor alcohol are suspected to have played a role. The accident remains under police investigation.
