A two-vehicle crash apparently caused injuries and prompted the temporary closure of the southbound lanes of the 71 Freeway Tuesday morning in Chino, according to initial reports.
The crash was reported a little after 7:40 a.m. on the southbound 71, north of Butterfield Ranch Road, according to a California Highway Patrol incident log.
A SigAlert was issued for the injury accident a little before 8 a.m.
Initially, officials also planned to close the northbound lanes of the freeway for a helicopter to land, but canceled it and an ambulance was sent instead. The northbound lanes were not closed.
The southbound lanes were re-opened and the SigAlert was canceled a little before 9 a.m., according to the CHP log.
Details about how the crash happened were not immediately available.
