The westbound lanes of the 210 Freeway near Day Creek Boulevard in Rancho Cucamonga were blocked Monday following a fatal multi-vehicle crash, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

“We have about four or five cars involved and someone has died,” Officer Devon Boatman said.

Although he didn’t have details into how the crash took place, he did say that the person killed was female.

The crash was reported just before 11 a.m., according to a CHP incident log. A SigAlert was issued about 11:15 and there is no estimate for how long it will be in effect.The westbound lanes of the 210 Freeway near Day Creek Boulevard in Rancho Cucamonga were blocked Monday following a fatal multi-vehicle crash, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

The crash has caused a backup on the transition roads from the 15 Freeway, Boatman said. The CHP and Caltrans are working to divert traffic from the area and allowing some vehicle to use the shoulder to get off the roadway, he said.

There were reports that some drivers were turning the wrong way on the Day Creek onramp and almost causing collisions, according to the CHP log.
