Fontana police are looking for a dark four-door sedan, possibly a Toyota with front-end damage, in connection with a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian late Monday, Sept. 25, according to a police news release.
The victim was a 69-year-old man who was not identified by name because his family has not been notified, according to a San Bernardino County coroner’s news release.
“We know it’s a Toyota,” said Sgt. Kevin Goltara with the Fontana Police Department. “But we don’t have a model or year for it. We’re hoping someone will notice a car with front-end damage and give us a call.”
A witness reported that the pedestrian was crossing Foothill Boulevard at Almeria Avenue about 11:50 p.m. and was struck by an eastbound vehicle, according to the Fontana police news release.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:29 a.m. Tuesday, according to the coroner’s report.
Anyone with information about the collision is asked to call Fontana police at 909-350-7700.
