JURUPA VALLEY >> A suspected drunken driver crossed a center line and allegedly caused a head-on crash that seriously injured several people in Jurupa Valley, a sheriff’s sergeant said Sunday.
The wreck was reported at 2:25 a.m. Saturday near Country Village Road and Oak Leaf Way, Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt. Justin Rowan said.
Initial reports indicate that the driver of a northbound vehicle on Country Village Road drifted onto the wrong side of the road and crashed into a southbound vehicle, according to Rowan.
“The occupants of both vehicles were transported to local area hospitals for serious injuries,” Rowan said.
Evidence gathered at the scene led sheriff’s investigators to believe alcohol or drugs may have played a factor in the crash.
It’s not clear how many people were injured or if any arrests were made.
