A motorcyclist who apparently crashed late Friday or early Saturday was found dead in a Torrance park, police said.

The man was discovered about 7:15 a.m. Saturday in Seaside Heroes Park at the T-intersection where Lomita Boulevard meets Anza Avenue, Torrance police Sgt. Ronald Harris said.

Harris said it appeared that the motorcyclist was traveling west and failed to make the turn. He crashed in the street and his body was thrown into the park on the west side of Anza.

No other vehicles were believed to be involved. Debris from the motorcycle was found in the road.

Late Saturday, the motorcyclist was identified by the coroner’s office as Joshua Qureshi, 21, of Carson.
