A Chino man, pushing a disabled vehicle as his mother steered, was killed Thursday night when a second vehicle driven by a suspected drunken driver slammed into the 26-year-old son, Ontario police said.
The unidentified man was pushing the vehicle west along the 800 block of East Mission Boulevard near Campus Avenue in Ontario around 11:45 p.m. when they say Shayne Ary, 21, of Bakersfield struck the man with his vehicle, according to a news release.
Officers determined Ary was under the influence and he was arrested on suspicion of felony driving under the influence and gross vehicular manslaughter.
Mission Boulevard in that area has two lanes going in each direction with a median in the center.
