A pedestrian was killed Saturday night in Chino Hills, and deputies were able to track down the suspect and arrest her on suspicion of hit-and-run and driving under the influence, sheriff’s officials said.

The victim, a female whose name hasn’t been released, was found about 7:20 p.m. lying in the street at the intersection of Chino Avenue and Peyton Drive, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release. She died at the hospital.

The driver fled without stopping or checking on the victim, sheriff’s officials said. Investigators identified the suspect as Talia Guadalupe Arias Simental, 23, of Pomona. The release said she was driving a Nissan Pathfinder that sustained major front-end damage.

Jail records show Arias Simental was arrested about 9:30 p.m. on suspicion of hit-and-run causing death and two DUI-related counts. She was booked into the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga, with bail set at $100,000.
