Friday’s fatal crash on the 10 Freeway at Riverside Avenue is delaying public transportation in neighboring communities.

Omnitrans announced at around 3:15 p.m. that Route 290 trips were 30 minutes down. The route travels from Montclair to San Bernardino via the 10 Freeway.

All lanes of the 10 Freeway were closed shortly before 1:30 p.m. after a big rig traveling west crashed into the center divider near Riverside Avenue in Rialto, entered eastbound lanes and struck several vehicles head-on, CHP Officer Brian Alvarez said.

The big rig caught fire.

Traffic on both sides of freeway are backed up for miles. There also is congestion on nearby side streets.
