POMONA — A Sunday evening crash involving at least two vehicles left one on fire and another overturned in Pomona, temporarily shutting down several lanes of the Pomona (60) Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision happened about 6:50 p.m. on the eastbound 60 Freeway at Phillips Ranch Road, the CHP reported.

The vehicle that caught fire sent flames spreading into the brush alongside the freeway, the CHP said. Los Angeles County firefighters were called to the scene and quickly extinguished the car and brushfire.
