Northbound 15 Freeway lanes reopen in Norco after truck crash

Last Updated on May 5, 2018 by CCAR Staff

A sideways big rig that burst into flames was for a time blocking all lanes of the northbound 15 Freeway at the Santa Ana River bridge in Norco on Saturday afternoon and evening, May 5.

By about 8:30 p.m., one northbound lane had reopened, Caltrans said. By 11 p.m. the roadway was clear,  according to the Caltrans map.

The crash was reported at 4:27 p.m. The driver was out of the crashed truck, the California Highway Patrol website said.

For a time, drivers heading north were turning around and using the southbound lanes. Some drivers almost crashed doing the maneuver, the CHP said.

At least one pallet of bricks, and some lumber, were spilled across the lanes.
