Hit-and-run at Pomona intersection kills pedestrian

A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run incident in Pomona early Sunday, May 13, police reported.

The incident was reported at 1:54 a.m near the intersection of  Hamilton Boulevard and Orange Grove Avenue. Arriving officers found the unidentified victim on the roadway.

The victim was transported to the hospital, but later succumbed to their injuries. No one else involved in the collision was the scene when officers arrived.

The intersection remained closed Sunday for several hours Sunday while the department’s Major Accident Investigation Team was at the location, but was re-opened by midday.

Anyone with information on the criminal investigation linked to the case is asked to call the Pomona Police Department at 909-620-2085. Anonymous tips can be left at  1-800-222-8477.
