A Covina resident was identified Thursday, Sept. 27, as the person killed in a rollover crash on the 15 Freeway in Fontana on Wednesday.

Michael Berg died from his injuries suffered in the 2:20 p.m. collision north of the 210 Freeway, California Highway Patrol Officer Jesus Garcia said.

The collision happened when Berg, driving his 1995 Toyota Corolla in the right lane, clipped the right rear of a 2018 BMW 230i that was one lane to the left, Garcia said. Berg’s car went off the freeway, down an embankment and overturned onto its roof.

No other injuries were reported, Garcia said.
